Job Title: Senior Legal Associate

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We seek a highly experienced Senior Legal Associate with a strong background in dispute resolution, particularly litigation.
  • As a Senior Legal Associate, you will be an integral part of our legal team, providing expert advice and representing our clients in dispute resolution and corporate matters.

Responsibilities

  • Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Handle various dispute resolution matters, including commercial litigation, contract disputes, employment disputes, intellectual property disputes, criminal disputes and family matters.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant case law, regulations, and industry trends to provide well-informed advice to clients.
  • Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing exceptional legal counsel, addressing client inquiries, and managing client expectations.
  • Case Management: Independently manage cases from inception to resolution, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, motions, and attending court proceedings.
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Assist clients in exploring and implementing alternative dispute resolution methods, where applicable, such as arbitration and mediation.
  • Legal Strategy: Develop and execute legal strategies to achieve favourable outcomes for clients while considering risk management and cost-effectiveness.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and provide guidance to junior associates.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure all legal activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an LL.B and BL
  • 5 to 10 years of active litigation and dispute resolution experience.
