Past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law, Seni Adio, SAN, has declared support for Mrs. Oyinkan Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, FCIArb, as the next President of the Nigerian Bar Association.

In a statement titled “Endorsement Of Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, FCIArb As The 33rd President Of The Nigerian Bar Association,” Adio described Badejo-Okusanya as an exceptional candidate whose career reflects excellence, integrity, courage and commitment to service.

He said leadership is best entrusted to persons who have consistently demonstrated those qualities, adding that Badejo-Okusanya embodies them.

According to him, a vote for Badejo-Okusanya would be a vote for leadership capable of heralding what he called a new and transformative dawn for the legal profession and the NBA.

Adio said her candidacy represents visionary leadership founded on integrity, excellence, inclusion, innovation and service to the Bar.

He particularly noted the need for inclusion of lawyers living with disabilities, saying the Association requires renewed purpose, stronger institutional capacity and inclusive leadership.

He stated that Badejo-Okusanya offers not only the promise of change but an assurance of purposeful progress.

Adio said her wealth of experience, proven competence and commitment to the ideals of justice position her to inspire confidence, unite members and take the NBA to greater heights.

He added that entrusting the leadership of the Association to her would mean choosing a future defined by bold reforms, improved welfare of members, recovery of public trust and a reinvigorated Bar prepared to meet the challenges of a changing legal landscape.

The senior lawyer said Badejo-Okusanya has, throughout her career, demonstrated strong commitment to the rule of law, advancement of the legal profession and promotion of justice.

He said she had earned the respect of colleagues and confidence of clients through professional excellence, sound judgment and ethical leadership.

Adio also stated that he could personally attest to her qualities, having witnessed them first-hand and having also been an adversary against her in court.

He said Badejo-Okusanya’s experience within the Bar, diverse background, public service record and administrative capacity uniquely position her to lead the NBA at this critical moment.

According to him, she understands the challenges confronting the legal profession and has both the vision and practical experience required to strengthen the Bar.

He further said she possesses the moral strength, comportment, eloquence and grace to defend the independence of the judiciary and reinforce public confidence in the administration of justice.

Adio described Badejo-Okusanya as a bridge-builder who inspires collaboration and values all members of the Association.

He said her leadership promises to be accessible, transparent, accountable and firmly rooted in the core values of the legal profession.

“The NBA deserves a President who will lead with competence, courage, and compassion,” he said.

Adio maintained that Badejo-Okusanya has consistently demonstrated those qualities and that her presidency would mark a new chapter of purposeful leadership and renewed confidence in the NBA.

He urged members across all branches of the Association to rally behind her candidacy and support a leader whose track record, vision and character inspire confidence.

“She is ready to serve. She is ready to lead. She is the President the Nigerian Bar Association deserves,” he added.
