The leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has distanced itself from the purported call for meeting making the round holding same to be fake and not from the NBA.

In a statement signed by the NBA secretary Dr. Rapulu Nduka and received by TheNigeriaLawyer on Thursday the 8th day of April, He said that the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has received various calls inquiring about a certain meeting at the behest of the NBA.
Disclaiming the said meeting, he affirmed that investigations show that some scammers have been reaching out to Senior members of the legal profession, asking them to be part of a meeting which can only be accessed by giving up a Whatsapp code sent to their phones.
He therefore urged the members of the NBA to be vigilant and be informed that any meeting at the behest of the NBA, will be circulated through its official media channels, handles or email and authorised NBA National officials.
Members are therefore advised to be watchful, secure their accounts and be careful about the various means used by scammers to take control of their victims’ communication channels.
