Judges of the Rivers State High Court are set to proceed on Easter break effective Monday, April 14, 2025. They are expected to resume duties on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, when regular court sittings will recommence.

The directive was issued by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon. Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi, in an announcement made on Thursday in Port Harcourt.
According to the Chief Judge, the break is in line with the provisions of Order 49, Rule 4B of the High Court Civil Procedure Rules, 2023.
This development was confirmed in an official statement released by the Chief Registrar of the Rivers State High Court, Mr. David Dahua-Maduenyi.
The statement, however, clarified that despite the holiday period, arrangements have been made for a designated vacation judge to handle urgent applications and matters that may arise during the break.
