TheNigerialawyer has just confirmed that the police Orderly of Hon. Justice Theophine U. Oguji who awarded 25 Million in favour of an Onitsha based lawyer, Ogbonaya Jacob Obasia, and against the Nigerian Police has not been withdrawn.

Recall that a Human Rights Foundation which Identified itself as International Human Rights and Equity Defense Foundation (I-REF) had Petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to remove the Commissioner of Police of Anambra for Withdrawing the orderly and also called on the IGP to reinstate the police.

According to a very close friend of the judge, Justice Oguji’s orderly has not been withdrawn. I just called him and he confirmed it.

“There might be plans to withdraw his orderly but for now all I know is that his orderly is still with him,” the source said.

Reacting to the report the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Onitsha Branch, Mr.Ozone Erinne, Esq said:

“Gentlemen, the news making rounds that the court orderlies of Hon Justice T U Oguji have been withdrawn is not true. Actually, there was a threat of withdrawal, but so far, not executed.

Meanwhile, the Judiciary is already investigating the threat and you will be informed of the situation at the end.”
