The Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN) is set to host its signature Annual Corporate Governance Conference on October 5th in Victoria Island, Lagos.

This year’s hybrid event carries the theme “ESG and Corporate Governance: Aligning Strategies for Sustainable Success.”

The conference comes at a pivotal moment when environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles are taking center stage globally. As expectations around sustainability rapidly evolve, the event will explore how leading companies are integrating ESG into their governance and strategy for long-term value creation.

Renowned speaker Dr. Jackie Chimhanzi will deliver the keynote address. Other notable speakers include Ambassador Shuaibu Adamu Ahmed and a lineup of seasoned panelists. Attendees can look forward to perspectives from experts and business leaders on leveraging ESG performance to attract investments, engage stakeholders, mitigate risks and unlock new opportunities.

“This conference is the corporate governance event of the year,” said SCGN spokesperson Olumide. “We will focus on best practices for embedding sustainability across operations and culture.”

The SCGN is a non-profit organization committed to developing good corporate governance ethics and practices in Nigeria. Through research, learning programs, publications and more, SCGN champions world-class governance standards locally.
