The FCT Police Command has responded to allegations surrounding the death of 24-year-old Priscilla Ocheme, who was found dead after visiting her boyfriend, Ekhosuehi Iseh Elvis, in Abuja. The family of the deceased had reached out to activist Harrison Gwamnishu, accusing the police of covering up the circumstances of her death.

However, in a statement released on October 22, police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh denied any attempt to cover up the matter. According to the police, investigations revealed that Priscilla had left her family home in Karu after a minor misunderstanding with her mother and had gone to Ekhosuehi’s residence in Lugbe to cool off.

The police stated that Priscilla eventually left Ekhosuehi’s residence later that evening and was on her way home when she was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident at the Amala Moore junction in Pyakasa. The accident was witnessed by two laborers, Jerry Amos and Moses Bala, who were working nearby at a brick-producing factory. They rushed Priscilla to Pyakasa Health Centre for medical attention, after which she was referred to the Federal Medical Centre Jabi, accompanied by two police detectives. Upon arrival at the medical center, she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

The FCT Police Command emphasized its commitment to professionalism and integrity in investigative processes, stating that it would never compromise the trust of the public it serves. The safety and justice for victims remain their top priority, and they are committed to ensuring a comprehensive and fair investigation.

The police have asked for the public’s understanding as they work to bring clarity to the situation and have promised to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
