Tansian University has formally promoted Rev. Fr. Edwin Obiora, SAN a distinguished legal practitioner and clergyman, to the rank of Professor in the Faculty of Law.

The announcement followed an emergency meeting of the University Senate held on July 16, 2025, where the elevation was approved based on recommendations from the University Central Appraisal and Promotions Committee and an external assessors’ report.

“I am pleased to inform you that the University Senate, at its emergency meeting held on Wednesday, 16th July, 2025, has considered and approved the recommendations of the University Central Appraisal and Promotions Committee and the External Assessors report that you be promoted to the rank of Professor in the Faculty of Law.

On behalf of the Governing Council, I congratulate you on your well-merited promotion and hope that you will continue with the good work that earned you the promotion.”
