In a move aimed at strengthening professional bonds and promoting meaningful engagement within the legal community, former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, is set to host the Eastern Lawyers’ Hangout in Umuahia, Abia State.

The event, themed Evening of Connection and Camaraderie, is designed to bring together legal practitioners from across the Eastern region for an informal but impactful gathering focused on collaboration, mentorship, and the exchange of ideas on contemporary legal practice.

Organisers said the hangout is intended to go beyond routine professional engagements by providing a relaxed atmosphere where lawyers can unwind, interact freely, and build lasting relationships within the Bar.

Legal luminaries and early-career practitioners are expected to attend the event, which will feature engaging conversations, shared experiences, and discussions around professional growth, all within a convivial social setting.

With Akangbe hosting, the gathering underscores the growing emphasis on community, connectivity, and fellowship within the legal profession, particularly as lawyers navigate evolving professional and social landscapes.

According to the invitation, the Eastern Lawyers’ Hangout will hold on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at De Latinos Lounge, BCA Road, Umuahia, Abia State, by 8:00pm.

The organisers described the event as an opportunity for members of the Bar to connect beyond the courtroom in an atmosphere of unity and shared purpose.
