Police in Lagos say they have begun investigating the death of Augusta Osedion whom her boyfriend Benjamin aka Killaboi confessed to killing on Instagram.
The 26-year-old Killaboi, who describes himself on Instagram as a blockchain developer and crypto purveyor, took social media by storm on Monday when he confessed to the alleged crime on Instagram Story.
He said he “mistakenly” stabbed his girlfriend after they got into an argument. He also said he ran away out of fear and has been suicidal since then.
He apologised to his mother and stated his willingness to turn himself in to the authorities.
Despite the fact that he said nothing about the claims that her privates were taken when she was discovered deceased in his residence.
In his confession, He wrote; “I got into an argument with my girlfriend @austa xxo which fight i mistakenly stabbed her and ran away out of fear and been suicidal since then. I want intend to end my life now cause I have lost the one o cherish so much I want to do the right thing and turn myself in. I will gladly die by paying with my life now.”
“I have failed myself, I have failed my mom, I have failed my family. Oh lorddddd I can’t believe this. I can’t leave with this guilt, I’m going crazy, nothing to kind again and I will say nothing but the truth all from the beginning to what brought us here.”
I should have left this toxic relationship but I didn’t, Oh lord forgive me for my sins, I wish I can go back In time and undo this but it has happened. How ever, the spokesman of the Lagos Police Command Benjamin Hundeyin told BBC Pidgin that Ms Osedion’s mother Onwabhagbe Cordelia of Military Cantonment, Maryland area of Lagos reported to the police on July 15 that her child had a quarrel with her boyfriend on July 11.
Hundeyin said Onwabhagbe told the police she tried to settle the differences between the lovers.
He confirmed that Osedion’s body was found at Killaboi’s house at Oral Estate in the Ikota area of Lagos.
Osedion’s Mercedes Benz C30 was also recovered at the scene, the spokesman was quoted to have said.
Hundeyin revealed the police found some parts of Osedion’s body missing, adding that marks of violence and signs of struggle were also seen on her body.
Her body has been deposited at the Yaba General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Hundeyin said the police are treating a note they found at the scene as an exhibit.
“Police have cordoned off the scene as preliminary investigation is ongoing so the case can be transferred to SCID Panti for secret investigation,” he added.
Meanwhile, minutes after Killaboi’s IG confession, eyewitnesses has revealed his girlfriend’s m¥tilat£d b%dy was found in his house with some of her b%dy parts missing.
The eyewitness reported that two women (Army officers wives ) and a uniformed army officer came to the estate and complained (one of them) that she is looking for her daughter and information says she is in the estate with someone. The mopols on duty came to her and she told them to report at the police post.
On getting to the property (24a Abiola Apoyin St) they saw the girl’s car parked within the premises with her car key on her car’s bonnet. They knocked severally with no response. They went back to the
police post and they were referred to Ajuwe Police Station.
The DPO deployed an IPO to the scene and after severally knocking and no response, they used a ladder to scale the fence and enter, only to discover the m¥tilated body of the girl (with her priv@te part and other parts missing) in the premises.
