Police Operatives from the Nsukka Area Command of the Enugu State Command have taken swift action in arresting individuals connected to a distressing viral video.

Obed Chekwube Ugwuanyi, also known as MC Sharp (male), aged 32, Chinenye Agbo, known as Star Ella Ada (female), aged 26, and Anastasia Onu (female), aged 26, were apprehended.

Additional suspects are currently being sought after in connection with the incident.

The video portrayed the brutal mistreatment of Chinenye, involving physical assault, the forcible removal of her clothing, and the shaving of her hair.

The incident was allegedly provoked by accusations of Chinenye assaulting Anastasia, who is in a relationship with Obed.

According to a statement by DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer, the initial findings of the investigation indicate that the trio is asserting that the disturbing video, which has sparked widespread public outrage and condemnation due to its shocking brutality and dehumanizing nature, was intended as a prank to attract attention and followers on their social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Enugu State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, has vehemently condemned the actions depicted in the video.

In response, he has instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Enugu to launch an extensive investigation into the matter and bring those responsible for the act to justice.

The Commissioner’s decision aims to set a precedent and discourage any attempts to commit such acts using the pretext of pranks. This measure is designed to underscore accountability and prevent future incidents of a similar nature.
