It’s the season to be jolly.

These rather merry words have been adopted by top organizations across the world. J-K Gadzama LLP is certainly not left out as its founding principal partner, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN organizes an annual Christmas carol/End of year party to provide staff, family, friends and well-wishers of the firm with the opportunity to express their gratitude to God for a successful year.

We gather that the firm celebrated its End of the year party and 7th Christmas Carol on Monday, December 20, 2021. It is truly remarkable that the firm has inculcated this tradition for this number of years. At the start of the occasion, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN humbly welcomed everyone to the occasion and wished them an amazing time ahead. While speaking at the event, Mela Audu Nunghe, SAN noted that this tradition is very dear to Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN as the Learned Silk is always on the look for an opportunity to appreciate God and his employees.

The occasion witnessed the presence of Hon. Justice Emmanuel Agim, a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria as the Chairman. While addressing the audience, he captured the need for the Bar and Bench to step up to their duty in ensuring the independence of the Judiciary. Prof Oluyole Akintayo, the National President of Christian Lawyers’ Fellowship of Nigeria (CLASFON) was also in attendance. He delivered the exhortation and urged all in attendance to emulate the spirit of thanksgiving of Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN. Rev. Caleb S. Dakwak, the Resident Pastor of the Church of the Brethren (EYN Church) Utako, Abuja was also present at the occasion. He prayed for the audience and commended the Learned Silk for having the initiative to use this platform in celebrating the Almighty God.

A glance at the program of events of the occasion revealed that it was very rich. During the occasion, Miss Sarah Atumga and Mr. Lamar Joe-Gadzama, both associates of the firm made a recap of the joyous moments and successes the firm had recorded in the year. They both noted that the Learned Silk is fixated on capacity building and in line with this, he sponsored all counsel in chambers to the recently concluded Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association which held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The occasion also brought to fore members of staff who had excelled in different areas throughout the year through the award presentation. As a performance driven firm targeted towards rewarding talent and zeal, the awards presented cut across various categories such as; longest serving support staff, best tennis player (male and female categories), longest serving counsel in chambers amongst many others.

The occasion was very colorful and bubbly as the audience appeared in their Christmas hats and with smiles on their faces. Also, the event witnessed an inflow of persons as the hall was filled to its brim. In addition to the persons mentioned earlier, we had the children and family members of the Learned Silk in attendance. Also, other notable personalities who were in attendance include; Hon. Justice A.I Chikere who was ably represented by Mrs. Amaruche Onyedum Anya, Prof. Paul Idornigie, SAN, Mr. and Mrs. Karagama, Mr. Keffas Gadzama, members of the Unity Bar and other friends of the firm. Fade Sax was also there to serenade the audience with melodious rendition of Christmas hymns.

The program came to an end with a vote of thanks by Mr. Madu Joe-Gadzama, a Senior Partner in the firm. He utilized that as an avenue to wish the audience a Merry Christmas and a Fruitful New Year in advance. Indeed, this occasion was an outstanding way to round up the year and express the firm’s sincerest thanks to God
