Veteran Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey, has expressed disappointment over the prolonged feud between twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye of the defunct P-Square group, saying their disagreement destroyed what he described as one of Africa’s biggest music brands.

Speaking in an interview with Goldmyne TV, which began trending on Saturday, Daddy Showkey said the impact of the dispute went beyond the brothers because P-Square had built a massive fan base across Africa and beyond.

“P-Square destroyed the biggest brand that Africa produced. P-Square isn’t for them alone,” he said.

The music veteran said entertainers must always remember that their success is largely built by the public, stressing that fans should not be ignored when major decisions are made about a brand they helped to build.

Drawing from his own experience, he said, “As an entertainer I can decide to lock myself in my room and celebrate my 50 years on stage. I am celebrating because it is the people that made me Daddy Showkey.”

He added that the Okoye brothers appeared to have focused more on personal interests than the millions of people who supported their music over the years.

“If the people have made you, you are not considering them but considering how much you guys are making,” he said.

Daddy Showkey warned that the long-term consequences of the feud may become clearer with time, urging Peter and Paul to find a way to resolve their differences and preserve their relationship as brothers.

“Dragging themselves like this, the future will tell. No matter what, you guys are brothers. No matter what, you should look for a place to resolve things because you have children,” he said.

He also cautioned that if the dispute is not resolved, it could affect the next generation of the family.

“Tomorrow you will carry this beef to your children,” he added.

His comments come amid the lingering crisis involving Peter, Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who previously managed the group.

The dispute has continued to attract public attention, with fans and several figures in the entertainment industry repeatedly appealing to the brothers to reconcile and protect the legacy of P-Square.
