Former Chairman Lokoja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has used this opportunity to salute the Leadership and members of the Ile Ife and Makurdi branches of the Nigerian Bar Association on the occasion of their Law Week.

Liman, in his goodwill message on Wednesday, said the theme for Ile Ife branch law week is “Exploring the law as a Catalyst towards a truly Federal State” while that of Makurdi branch is ” Democracy, Electoral Process and the Paradigm of change in Nigeria”, said apt.

“These two themes are very related and interconnected in may respect.

“They can clearly be summarized in two words which are; Constitutionalism and Patriotism

“Our Constitutional and electoral reforms must not only be continuum, it must be done with a patriotic mindset. It is only this that can secure for us the actual change and development we all craved for in Nigeria.

“We will only experience change when we stop amending our laws on the basis of tribal/regional/ethnic control/bias.

“That being said, i must put on record that, these themes are thought provoking and very insightful in their form, nature and context.

“I therefore commend members of the two branches for coming up with these wonderful themes. You have done very well and posterity will remember you all for good.

“Congratulations and I wish you best of luck.”
