The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced that 1,906,390 registered voters have collected their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

The figure represents 81.50 per cent of the 2,339,233 registered voters in the state.
INEC disclosed the final PVC collection figures in a statement issued on Thursday, August 13, 2026, by its National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna.
According to the Commission, 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent of the total registered voters, remained uncollected at the close of the collection exercise.
INEC said the uncollected cards had been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, in accordance with its established practice ahead of elections.
The Commission also disclosed that some registered voters whose PVCs were damaged, defaced or lost had applied for replacement cards.
It said a total of 6,101 persons among those who applied for replacement printed downloadable copies of their PVCs.
INEC further announced that a detailed breakdown of collected PVCs on a polling unit-by-polling unit basis had been published for public access.
The Commission reiterated its readiness to conduct the Osun governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
It assured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and residents of Osun State that arrangements had been put in place for a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive election.
With the final PVC figures released, more than 1.9 million registered voters with collected cards are positioned to participate in the governorship poll across the state.
