*Condemns Daylight Killing, Calls for Urgent Action on Security

The Nigerian legal community is demanding swift action and justice following the tragic assassination of Chief Jude Oguejiofor, a respected Nnewi-based lawyer. Chief Oguejiofor was abducted last week by unknown gunmen and later found killed execution-style, prompting outrage.

In an impassioned statement, senior lawyer Afam Osigwe SAN mourned Oguejiofor’s loss and condemned the heinous attack. “The fact such a brazen attack could occur in broad daylight underscores the urgent need for a thorough investigation,” Osigwe declared, imploring authorities to fully prosecute those responsible.

As principal partner of his Nnewi firm, the late Chief Oguejiofor was considered an inspiration and pillar locally. His shocking murder along with his brother, a doctor later released, has fueled insecurity fears in an already unstable region.

Osigwe called the tragic assassination “a stark reminder of the ongoing security challenges facing our society,” reaching out in solidarity to Oguejiofor’s bereaved community. He insisted Nigeria must confront the escalating “senseless violence” that claimed his colleague’s life.

Police officials have launched an investigation but not yet apprehended suspects. Chief Oguejiofor’s friends, family and legal professional contemporaries like Osigwe SAN demand urgent breakthroughs and legal closure after the killing of one of their own.
