*Ojukwu SAN Lampoons Nigerian Leaders For Failure Of Health Sector

A video emerged showing the state of the health facility at the home community of Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweramadu.

Ekweremadu who has represented Enugu West Senatorial District at the Senate since 2003 was arrested with his wife, Beatrice Neanneka, in June, in the United Kingdom on the allegation of bringing a child to the United Kingdom (UK) for organ harvesting.

Apart from the controversies which have surrounded the actual age of the alleged victim, the incident again brought to fore the inadequacy of the Nigerian healthcare sector which made in impossible for his daughter’s kidney transplant to be done here in Nigeria.

In a video recently sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer, the supposed Health Centre said to be in Ekweremadu’s Community was in shambles and was nothing to write home about with a dilapidated building, broken floors, cracked walls and a very distasteful sight.

Recall that amongst several eminent Nigerians who remarked on the Ekweramadu’s arrest few weeks back, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Former Deputy Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Prof Ernest Ojukwu SAN described the unavailability of quality hospitals for such complex medical procedures as a “monumental tragedy”.

In a tweet shared on his account @ernestojukwu, the renowned Academic wrote: “EKWEREMADU-ORGAN case,a monumental tragedy.

His innocence/guilt pales by comparison to the sadness of the sick young daughter and her pains & the monumental tragedy that Nigeria does not have one hospital where to rescue her & numerous other Nigerians in terrible health conditions”.
