The Kano State Censorship Board has suspended two film actors, Amina Uba Hassan and Adam Garba, for the alleged release of an immoral video to the public.

According to the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, Abba El-Mustapha, the actors were suspended for a period of one year from all filming activities within Kano State for violating the state’s censorship regulations.

A statement signed by the Board’s spokesman, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, warned that any breach of the specifications of the suspension order would attract serious court sanctions.

The statement urged directors, producers, and other stakeholders in the industry to comply strictly with the suspension order, noting that any violation would attract appropriate punishment according to the law.

The statement, which held that the alleged immoral video had generated tension within communities across the state, insisted that the Board had the legal mandate to suspend any actor or actress found violating the state censorship laws within the geographical territory of Kano State.

The statement cautioned all Kannywood stakeholders to be mindful of actions capable of tarnishing the image and reputation of the Kannywood industry in the eyes of the public.
