The Deputy Senate President, Chief Ovie Omo- Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will today know his fate at the Election Petitions Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State, in a petition instituted against him by Evelyn Oboro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Oboro is claiming victory over the Deputy Senate President in the election that produced Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This came as the tribunal in Asaba yesterday sacked Benson Rolands Igbakpa (PDP) as the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the green chambers in a petition filed by John Halims Agoda (APC). Agoda, who contested the February 23 National Assemnably Election against Igbakpa had alleged gross irregularities and urged the tribunal to declare him winner or in the alternative cancel the election, maintaining that he pulled the highest number of valid votes cast.

The chairman of the tribunal Justice A.M. Abubakar, who saw reason on the point of law with the issues raised by Agoda, yesterday declared him the winner of the election. Meanwhile, in another case presided over by Justice E.I Ngene, the tribunal dismissed the petition brought by Mr. Joel Thomas Onovwakpor (APC) against Leo Ogor (PDP).

Justice Ngene said that the petitioner failed to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt. Also, Monday Igbuya (APC) petition suffered setback. His petition against the current member representing Okpe/Uvwie, and Sapele Federal Constituency, Efe Afe (PDP) was dismissed.
