Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has appointed Nwokike Rosemary Ifeoma, Esq. as its new Registrar. Nwokike’s selection follows a rigorous process conducted by the University’s Governing Council, which assessed candidates based on their academic credentials, administrative experience, and overall suitability for the role.

Nwokike’s appointment is particularly significant as she becomes the first Awka indigene to hold the position of Registrar since the university’s establishment. Her emergence as the successful candidate is a testament to her impressive academic background and extensive experience in university administration.

A highly educated professional, Nwokike, Esq. holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Law degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). She further advanced her education with a Master of Laws (LLM) in Maritime Law and Policy and is currently pursuing a PHD. This strong academic foundation, coupled with her practical experience, set her apart from other candidates vying for the position.

Throughout her career, Nwokike, Esq. has held various administrative roles, demonstrating exceptional competence and leadership. She began her journey as an Assistant Faculty Officer in the Faculty of Law at UNN, where she honed her skills in academic administration. Her subsequent roles in the Records and Statistics unit, as Faculty Officer in the Department of Business Administration, and as Coordinator of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Development Research at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC), further showcased her ability to manage complex processes and drive innovation.

In 2022, Nwokike, Esq. served as Unit Head in the Personnel Services Unit at the Registry Department, Enugu Campus, where she successfully managed human resources functions and implemented policies to enhance staff welfare and institutional efficiency.
