*Says The Increase Is Due To Increase In Cost Of Printing Materials
The Nigerian Law Publications Limited, the publisher of the Nigerian Weekly Law Report, has announced increment of cover price from N2, 500 to N3, 000.
The Company, through its Managing Director, Mr. Mojeed Ajao, said the increment shall take effect from January 2022. According to him, the increment is due to the increase in cost of printing materials
The statement reads in part, “Dear Esteemed Customers,
“We wish to express our deep appreciation for your continued loyalty to the Nigerian Weekly Law Reports (NWLR) brand and the legacy of our Proprietor – Chief Gani Fawehinmi SAN, GCON for thirty-six (36) years and counting. Your consistent patronage and kind feedbacks have encouraged us to sustain the quality of the brand.
“We wish to inform you that the cover price of the Nigerian Weekly Law Reports will be increased to N3,000.00 (Three thousand Naira) effective 1st January 2022. This increase affects all the backlogs of Nigerian Weekly Law Reports.
“This price increase is necessitated by the general increase in prices of printing materials that are used in the production of the reports i.e. bond papers, pelican boards and other associated costs.”
The company clarified that the N2, 500 price has been so since 2012 but the cost of production has continued to rise. Therefore, the only option is to increase price of copies of the law reports by 20% (N500). They assured that they will be committed to quality and excellent law reporting.
“We have tried as much as possible to maintain the cover price of N2,500.00 in the last nine (9) years since the last increase was effected in January 2012, Part 1284 of Nigerian Weekly Law Reports but the production costs continue to rise. In view of this we have no option than to increase the price by N500.00 i.e. 20% per copy whilst we continue to absorb the rest.
“We assure you of our commitment to quality and excellent law reporting.
“We thank you for your understanding and loyalty.” the Notice further reads
