The National Industrial Court of Nigeria has announced its annual vacation for the year 2024. In a notice signed by the Honorable President of the Court, Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD, OFR, the vacation will commence on Monday, July 29, 2024, and end on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

The declaration was made pursuant to Order 58 Rule 4(1) (c) of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (Civil Procedure) Rules 2017. During the vacation period, there will be no court sittings, and normal court proceedings will resume on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Justice Kanyip, in his statement, said, “In exercise of the powers conferred on me under Order 58 Rule 4 (1) (c) of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2017, and all other powers enabling me in that respect, I. Hon. Justice B. B. Kanyip, PhD, OFR, FNIALS, FCTI, FCIArb, President, National Industrial Court of Nigeria, hereby declare that the court shall proceed on 2024 Annual Vacation beginning from Monday 29 July 2024 to Tuesday 24 September 2024.”

The annual vacation is a routine practice in the Nigerian judiciary, allowing judges and court staff to take a break from their hectic schedules and attend to personal matters.
