The National Judicial Council (NJC) is examining the judicial crisis in Osun State which saw Governor Ademola Adeleke suspend embattled Chief Judge Justice Adebola Adepele Ojo.

However, the Council will continue recognizing Ojo as chief judge while paying her salary despite the suspension.

Sources reveal that although allegations against Ojo by the state government are being reviewed, with a likely query coming, the NJC has not withdrawn support. The face-off stems from Adeleke accusing Ojo of judicial misconduct.

As the issue continues percolating, the NJC is hoping to balance judicial independence and discipline regarding the chief judge matter in Osun. But it affirms Justice Ojo retains her position while investigations unfold.
