Tragedy struck the Nigerian entertainment industry today following reports that popular skitmaker Churchill has died in an accident while trying to create content.

According to viral footage, Churchill was seen dropping his phone to the floor before attempting to jump up and touch a basketball net. He failed to reach the net and landed forcefully, striking his head on the concrete floor.

Eyewitnesses rushed him to the hospital but he sadly passed away soon after, according to a university classmate identified on Instagram as LadyResa.

“He was bedridden with a neck collar but couldn’t survive due to internal injury,” she stated.

The shocking incident has sparked sadness amongst fans and colleagues. Many have taken to social media to mourn Churchill’s untimely death during the filming of what was intended to be comedic content.

One commenter wrote: “While looking for our daily bread, may we not be eaten in the process.” Another netizen said: “Within seconds a life is lost. May we not die in search of our daily bread.”

Churchill was considered a rising talent with a bright future in Nigeria’s booming comedy industry. His sudden death continues an alarming trend of accidents while creating risky viral content.

The young entertainer will be sorely missed by his family, friends and growing fanbase. Investigations are however ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
