Nigerian lawyers now have a rare opportunity to sharpen their legal skills and expand their global reach, as the Intellectual Property Lawyers Association of Nigeria (IPLAN), in collaboration with the French Institute Nigeria, has unveiled a 22-week hybrid French Language Program designed exclusively for legal practitioners.

The initiative aims to position Nigerian lawyers for cross-border briefs, international transactions, and entry into lucrative global markets where French remains a dominant legal, business, and diplomatic language.

Beyond classroom learning, participants will enjoy access to the French Institute’s rich cultural and professional network, including film screenings, mixers, and exclusive networking opportunities with key stakeholders that could prove career-defining.

“French is increasingly the language of opportunity in international law and business. The lawyers who master it now will be the ones fielding the global briefs tomorrow,” said Damilola Alabi, IPLAN Clinic Coordinator.

Registration for the program, which costs ₦85,000 for training, ₦25,000 for materials, and ₦3,000 for registration, closes on September 7, 2025. Organizers caution that slots are limited and may fill up quickly.

Interested participants can register via www.bit.ly/IPLAN-LearnFrench.

The program is supported by the Intellectual Property Institute (Nigeria).
