The Council of Legal Education (CLE), Nigerian Law School Headquarters, Bwari, Abuja, has officially informed candidates who sat for the November 2024 Bar Final Examinations and the general public that the processes leading to the publication of the results are nearing completion.

In a statement signed by Management and dated March 28, 2025, the CLE confirmed that, pending the necessary approval from the Council of Legal Education, the Bar Part 2 results will be released in the coming days. The date for the Call to the Bar ceremony will also be announced once it receives official approval from the Honourable Body of Benchers.

This announcement follows public concern over delays in the release of results, which have led to ongoing debates within the Nigerian legal community.

The House of Representatives recently addressed the issue through a motion sponsored by Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu and Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka. The lawmakers expressed their grave concern over the prolonged delay, which has impacted over 6,000 students, and described the situation as a “humanitarian crisis.” They cited instances where students awaiting their Bar results tragically passed away due to the stress and uncertainty surrounding the process.

The House also highlighted the challenges faced by elderly students, some in their 70s and 80s, who have been affected by these bureaucratic delays, despite pursuing legal education out of a passion for justice and service. The lawmakers called on the Council of Legal Education to expedite the release of results and resolve the backlog of students awaiting their Call to the Bar.

In response, the Council of Legal Education assured candidates and the public that all necessary steps are being taken to release the results as soon as possible and to facilitate a smooth Call to the Bar process.
