Below is the profile of Mr. Ayodele Akenroye as published on the ICCBA website: Mr. Ayodele Akenroye is a criminal defense Lawyer in Toronto, Canada where he represents accused persons before the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He is also on the list of Assistants to the Counsel at the ICC. Ayo recently completed a PhD program in International Criminal Law at McGill University, Montreal, Canada where he wrote a doctoral thesis on the theoretical foundations of victimhood in international criminal law using constructive theory. He holds an LL.M. from the University of Manitoba, and an LL.B. from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He is called to the Bars of Nigeria, Manitoba and Ontario, Canada. Ayo currently serves as an Administrative Law Judge with the Government of Manitoba, Canada. His professional experience includes a stint with the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) where he advised on international law, international criminal law, peace and security, democracy and good governance. Ayo was also an Adjunct Professor in the Master’s in Development Practise program of the University of Manitoba, Canada where he taught a course on Poverty and Human Rights.
