*Sends Goodwill Message to NBA Yenagoa On 2022 Law Week

A member of the NBA Welfare Committee, Auta Nyada has emphasised that Nigeria is in desperate need of a strong judiciary that is independent and forthright.
He said this while sending his goodwill message to the Nigerian Bar Association Yenagoa branch on its 2022 law week celebration.
He appreciated the leadership of the branch for lending its voice to the burning national subject on the judiciary stating that such a conversation is reflective of courage which he described as the greatest of all virtues.
Going further, Nyada noted that Nigeria is in desperate need of a strong judiciary that is independent and forthright.
The statement reads in full:
“It is a delight to enjoy the rare privilege of saying a few words in respect to the Yenagoa Branch law week of this year.
My special gratitude goes to the Leadership of the branch for lending their voice to a burning National subject matter: THE JUDICIARY.
The quantum of courage that has been brought into having this discussion reminds us daily that courage is the greatest of all virtues, because if you lack courage, you may not have an opportunity to use any of the other virtues. More so, success is never final, failure never fatal, but it is courage that counts.
May I quickly appreciate the Law week planning Committee for the sheer diligence in garnering resources to put together an event such as this in keeping faith with the age-long tradition of the Profession.
The choice of this year’s theme for the law week is apt, and it’s aptness cannot be overemphasized because it reflects a people who are alive to the real issues plaguing our country.
The ability to put together a law week in the face of the current economic hardship, deserves immense commendation and it is my sincere hope that the gains of the ongoing law week will yield abundance of positive resolve in building a stronger judiciary, that can be boldly and rightly referred to as the last hope of the common man.
It is beyond argument that our dear Country is in desperate need of a strong Judiciary that is independent and forthright and as such the choice of this theme couldn’t have been better timed.
I am certain that with the quality of resource persons invited to pilot the activities of this year’s Law week, all those in attendance will be positively and intellectually rejuvenated. It is also my hope that our nation’s Judiciary will be the biggest beneficiary of this year’s law week.
