*Dedicates the Award to his Principal, Late Senator Danladi Bamaiyi

Sokoto Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association(Caliphate Bar), at her Dinner on Monday, honoured the Chairman Welfare Committee of the NBA YC Maikyau, SAN, with an “Achiever’s Award”.

The event which took place at Banquet Hall of Sokoto Guest Inn formed part of her activities for the 2021 Law Week.

The “Achiever’s Award” was presented to the Learned Silk for his outstanding contribution to the growth of the legal profession and service to humanity.

Maikyau, SAN in turn dedicated the Award posthumously to his Principal, Late Senator Danladi Bamaiyi, under whom he served for 13 years before setting up his practice under the name of Y.C Maikyau & Co., with offices in Sokoto and Abuja.

Mr. Maikyau eulogized his late principal, whom he said raised him in the virtues of discipline, honesty and integrity in the practice of law.

He ascribed his growth in the legal profession to God Almighty and the mentorship he got from late Senator Danladi Bamaiyi, who impacted him positively in several respects.

Maikyau, SAN who had his humble beginning in law practice in Sokoto, attended the commissioning of the High Court Complex remodeled by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal,  Mattawallen Sokoto, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, which event coincided with the 2021 Law Week of the Sokoto Branch of the NBA.

Some Members of the Branch variously described Mr. Maikyau, SAN as a Mentor, detribalized Nigerian, eloquent, very humble, a kind and generous person who enjoys wonderful relationships with his senior and junior colleagues, within and outside the State.
