The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has released modalities for payment of the mandatory 2024 Annual Bar Practicing Fee (BPF) by lawyers.

In a public notice, the professional body pegged the 2024 BPF at N5,000 for 4 years and below, N10,000 for 5-9 years, N17,500 for 10-14 years, N25,000 for 15 years and above. Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) and Honorable Benchers are to pay N50,000 depending on number of years in the rank.
The NBA outlined two payment channels – the NBA web portal at portal.nigerianbar.org.ng and the NBA Digital Mobile App, downloadable on iOS and Android devices.
The public notice indicated that only the NBA App provides access to Bar Services like online BPF payments, Find a Lawyer directory, career opportunities, e-Stamping and other utilities. Verify NIN, and generate NBA ID, among others.
The annual dues are mandatory for all legal practitioners under the Legal Practitioners Act.
