Candidate for the office of General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Nnaebuka Onyebuchi Nwaeze, has said the NBA Secretariat must be repositioned to serve members more effectively.

In his campaign message, Nwaeze said the Secretariat exists to serve lawyers and that every decision, process and action within the Association should be guided by service, accountability, integrity and innovation.

According to him, every lawyer deserves a Secretariat that listens, responds and delivers, with members placed at the centre of its operations.

He said service should not merely be a campaign slogan, but the foundation of responsive leadership, professional excellence, accountability and member satisfaction.

Nwaeze stated that a member-focused Secretariat must be built on four key values: service, by putting members first; integrity, by doing what is right; accountability, by taking responsibility for results; and innovation, by embracing new ideas for a better NBA.

He called on lawyers to support his candidacy, saying his vision is to build a more responsive, accountable and innovative NBA Secretariat.

“Let’s make the NBA Secretariat about service,” he said.
