NBA Ikorodu Bar Week Presents An Opportunity To Interrogate The Issues Militating Against National Growth — Jonathan Taidi

*Felicitates With Branch As It Marks The Week

A Former General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Jonathan Gunu Taidi has felicitated with the Ikorodu Branch of the Association on the occasion of its 2022 Bar Week celebration.

In a statement sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer, Taidi felicitated with the leadership and members of the branch, commending the choice of theme for the event.

Appraising the theme: “Nation Building: Our Collective Responsibility”, Taidi said that upon independence in 1960, Nigeria had the promise of greatness and universal optimism. However, 62 years later, the nation remains embroidered in numerous challenges that threaten every hope of its survival.

He described the law week as an opportunity for the legal profession to identify the clogs in the wheel of Nigeria’s development and come up with workable solutions.

The statement read:

“I felicitate with the Chairman, Executive Council Members and members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu Branch on the occasion of her 2022 Bar Week on the theme: “Nation Building: Our Collective Responsibility.”

Our country attained independence on 1st October, 1960 with the promise of greatness, and universal optimism. Alas, 62 years later, the nation remains embroidered in numerous challenges that at times threaten every hope of its survival.

It is therefore heart warming that NBA Ikorodu Branch is determined to interrogate the issues militating against the growth of our nation and the vital roles we all can play in unraveling the complex issues that have kept us in perpetual motion without movement.

This platform presents another opportunity for us in the legal profession to identify the clogs in the wheel of our development as a nation and come up with workable solutions that will bail us out of stagnation.
