THE Southwest Lawyers Forum (Egbe Amofin) has notified the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) of its adoption of Dele Adesina (SAN) as its presidential candidate for the July election.

It informed the EBF of Adesina’s adoption by the Egbe Amofin in a March 2020 letter signed by its Secretary, Dr. Wole Akintayo, and addressed to EBF governor Mr Long Williams.

The letter was read on the floor of the meeting. It stated in part: “On August 27, NBA, the Egbe-Amofin held a meeting at Westwood Hotel Ikoyi, Lagos, where it unanimously resolved to produce a single candidate for the NBA Presidential election coming up in July 2020.

“Further to this resolution, a committee was set up on October 26, 2019 at the Egbe’s meeting in Ibadan. “And in its December 14, 2019 general meeting unanimously received and approved the decision of the Committee which recommended Dele Adesina (SAN) as the consensus candidate for the July Presidential election of the NBA. Please find attached here- with a copy of notice of the said endorsement.”
