The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has mourned the painful demise of Mrs. Chiamaka Okpalaeke-Obi, Esq., an activist who died as a result of child birth.
This is contained in a statement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer, which was signed by the NBA National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kunle Edun.
NBA, therefore, condoles with NBA Awka Branch, family and friends of the deceased activist.
The statement reads:
The NBA mourns with the Chairman and members of Awka branch over the painful passing away of activist lawyer, Chiamaka Okpalaeke-Obidi, who passed on recently during child birth.
Mrs. Okpalaeke-Obidi was well known for her advocacy for citizen’s welfare and rights, she was a vibrant member of Awka branch.
On behalf of the National officers and members of the Nigerian Bar Association, the NBA President expresses his condolencs to the leaders and members of Awka branch, the family and friends of our departed Chiamaka Okpalaeke-Obidi
We pray that the Almighty God grants her a peaceful transition and gives her family, colleagues and friends the fortitude to bear this irreparable
