A Member of the NBA Welfare Committee, Auta Nyada has felicitated with the leadership and members of the NBA Barnawa Branch on the occasion of her 2022 Law Week.

In a goodwill message made available to TheNigeriaLawyer, Nyada praised the efforts put in by the leadership of the Branch to ensure the success of the annual law week program. He described it as a testament to the commitment of the branch’s leadership to the improvement of the lot of its members.

“There is no gainsaying that the Executive members and the members of the Planning Committee have invested resources both mental and material to ensure that this event is a success. This is a further demonstration of their untiring effort to ensure transformation and development amongst members of the Bar and it is laudable.”

He also appreciated the Executive and members of this Model Branch for picking a theme befitting of the season and times.

According to him, the new Electoral Act 2022 presents yet another attempt by Nigerians at improving our growing democracy.

He equally highlighted that lawyers hold a position of trust in society to enlighten the common man and defend his rights.

“As lawyers, we are in an exalted position of public trust to ensure the enlightenment and protection of the innate rights of the common man. It is therefore crucial that we are aptly equipped to protect one of the most effective weapons the common man has in a democratic nation which is his vote.”

He further underscored the place of unity in building a credible and progressive electoral system. He said: Sir Tafawa Balewa of blessed memory once said, “unity is our greatest concern, and it is the duty of every one of us to work so that we may strengthen it.” A strong electoral system that ensures that the will of the people prevails is crucial in forging a united and prosperous Nigeria.”
