NBA 2022 Elections: ‘Y.C. Maikyau SAN Is Eminently Qualified To Lead The Bar For Our Greater Good — J.S. Okutepa SAN

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, J.S Okutepa SAN has endorsed the candidacy of the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Welfare Committee, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau SAN for the Presidency of the Association.

The biennial elections into National Offices of the NBA is scheduled to hold on the 16th of July and according to the list of screened candidates published by the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA), Y.C Maikyau is one of the Candidates for the Office of National President, a position currently held by Mr Olumide Akpata.

In his endorsement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer, J.S Okutepa, the Principal Partner and Managing Solicitor of J.S. Okutepa SAN & Co., said that at this critical moment in the history of the Nigerian Bar, the NBA requires a leader who is trustworthy, and with unquestionable integrity.

He stated that the Association needs a Leader who has shown fidelity to the ethics and rules that guide the profession, and concluded that Y.C. Maikyau is the man for the NBA top job

He noted: “At this critical moment in the history of the Bar, NBA needs a leader that has always been good and has earned the trust and respect of not only the members of the Bar and the Bench, but the respects of lawyers.

NBA needs a lawyer who is very honest with an unquestionable integrity and can be trusted with leadership and who will not betray the Bar and the Bench. We need a man of undiluted Fidelity with the code of conduct in the legal profession.

Okutepa continued: “Y C Maikyau SAN is the man. Let Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau SAN lead the Bar for the greater good of the vast majority of Nigerians and Nigerian lawyers.”
