The President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD, OFR, has declared Friday, July 31, 2026, to Monday, September 28, 2026, as the court’s annual vacation for the year.

Justice Kanyip made the declaration pursuant to Order 58 Rule 4(1)(c) of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria Civil Procedure Rules, 2017.

According to the notice signed by the NICN President, there will be no regular court sitting during the vacation period, except in urgent applications where the subject matter of a case may be destroyed if not heard by a vacation judge.

The notice further stated that normal court sitting will resume on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

“In exercise of the powers conferred on me under Order 58 Rule 4(1)(c) of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2017, and all other powers enabling me in that respect, I, Hon. Justice B. B. Kanyip, PhD, OFR, FNIALS, FCTI, FCIArb, President, National Industrial Court of Nigeria, hereby declare that the court shall proceed on 2026 Annual Vacation beginning from Friday, 31 July 2026 to Monday, 28 September 2026,” the notice read in part.

The vacation notice means that only urgent matters requiring immediate judicial attention will be entertained during the period, while regular proceedings across the court’s divisions will resume after the vacation.
