On the 24th day of November 2023, the Privacy Academy hosted its annual Privacy Dinner and Induction Ceremony, bringing together some industry leaders, and lawyers dedicated to the development of privacy and data protection in Nigeria.

The event, held at the prestigious Oriental Hotel in Lagos, featured a thought-provoking dinner speech delivered by Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN on “Why Privacy Matters.” A highlight of the evening was the award of Fellowship of the Academy to Dr Vincent Olatunji – the National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission for his contribution to the development of privacy and data protection in Nigeria.
The event culminated in the induction of forty distinguished professionals as Associates of the Privacy Academy. These Associates were inducted having successfully scaled through the Academy’s training and assessment during the July and September 2023 sessions.
After the induction, attendees were treated to a three-course dinner, providing a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and shared commitment to fostering a thriving community of privacy professionals within and outside Nigeria.
