The National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has conducted a major crackdown on counterfeit wines and spirits in Nasarawa State, leading to seizures worth ₦41.2 million.

In a statement released Monday on its official X handle, NAFDAC revealed that the operation targeted multiple locations including Mararaba Market, New Nyanya, and Masaka areas of the state.

“The operation targeted counterfeit and adulterated wines and spirits, resulting in the seizure of products valued at over ₦41.2 million,” the statement read.

The agency’s Investigation and Enforcement team has launched a probe to identify and track down the importers or manufacturers responsible for the fake products.

NAFDAC also issued a public warning, urging consumers to exercise caution and report any suspicious products to their nearest NAFDAC office for immediate action.

“Our enforcement efforts remain ongoing as we work to protect public health and ensure the safety of consumer products in the market,” the agency added.
