*Prof Obioma Dies Of Heart Failure Says NECO
The Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Examination Council (NECO), Professor Godswill Obioma is dead.
A family source confirmed that Obioma died on Monday night after a brief illness. This was also confirmed to Nigerian Tribune by Mr Mustapha Abdul, Director Human Resource Management of NECO.
Prince Godswill Obioma, the son of the deceased in a text message to the Director of Human Resources on behalf of the family, said: “Dear Sir, this is to formally inform you that my father Prof. Godswill Obioma the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO passed to eternal glory yesterday 31/5/2021 after a brief illness.
“We request that you kindly notify the Board, Management and the entire staff of the Council of this development.
“We shall keep you duly informed.”
While the Director Human Resources of the National Examination Council, NECO, Abdul Mustapha, has confirmed on Tuesday morning to reporters that NECO registrar, Prof Godswill Obioma has died in his sleep as a result of heart failure.
According to a statement by the family, the NECO boss died of a brief illness.
The statement was signed by Godswill Obioma the second and addressed to the Council’s Director of Human Resources.
It said the family will give details to the Council and members of the public.
