Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has approved a fresh round of appointments into key government institutions and offices as part of efforts to strengthen the machinery of government, improve institutional effectiveness and enhance service delivery across the state.

The appointments include a chairman and members of commissions, a Senior Special Assistant and 14 liaison officers designated to different parts of Plateau State.

The Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel Jatau, announced the appointments in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying they were intended to consolidate the administration’s governance structure and ensure effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

Among the appointees is Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, who was named Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The governor also appointed Mrs Sarah Buge as Executive Secretary of the Plateau Water Sector Regulatory Commission, while Mrs Felicia Raymond Dabo was appointed Commissioner II of the Local Government Service Commission.

Hon. Kenpiya Best was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on the School Feeding Programme.

Mutfwang also approved appointments of liaison officers across several areas of the state.

Those named in the statement include Emmanuel Nyam Pate for Jos East; Bldr. Moses Danang for Qua’an Pan North; Longji Kefas Kabang for Mangu North East; Patience Danjuma for Barkin Ladi; and Hon. Yusha’u Abubakar Mazadu for Jos North North.

Others listed are Douglas Jang, Jos North West; Selcang Goladi, Langtang North North; Bongkur Kargwark Gabriel, Langtang North Central; Nandet Karfa, Langtang South; Ayuba Dalyop Mandung, Jos South; Godwin Bedir, Kanke; and Benjamin Gofup, Pankshin North.

While the government statement described the appointments as including 14 liaison officers, the material released lists 12 liaison officers by name.

The government said the appointments were designed to strengthen coordination between the administration and communities, while improving the implementation of government programmes across sectors and local government areas.

Congratulating the appointees, Governor Mutfwang urged them to bring their experience, expertise, dedication and commitment to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He further charged them to conduct themselves in accordance with the principles of accountability, transparency and professionalism, while ensuring that their respective offices contribute meaningfully to the administration’s development agenda.
