Moses Ebute SAN Emerges Chairman, NBA Abuja Branch

*As Election Committee Schedules Swearing-In for Wednesday, 15th of December

The Election Committee of the NBA Abuja Branch has announced Moses Ebute SAN as the new Chairman of the Branch.

In a supplemental notice signed by Chairman of the Election Committee, Emmanuel Oluwabiyi and the Secretary, Mimi Ayua, and made available to the TheNigerianLawyer, after the close of submission of nomination forms for the office on the 6th of September, only Moses Ebute submitted his indication of interest and notification form.

The notice further read;

“NOW LET IT BE KNOWN THAT:
1. Pursuant to Section 15 (5) of the Bye-Law, the Election Committee hereby declare and notify the Branch that Moses Alfred Ebute, SAN, the only candidate who submitted his completed Nomination Form to the Committee within the time stated in the Election Time-Table in Notice Number 001, has met all the criteria set out in the Committee Notice Number 001 of Monday 6th December, 2021.

2. The Election Time-Table be and is hereby amended by the addition of the Swearing-in of the Chairman which shall be on Wednesday, 15th December, 2021 by 2:00 pm at the NBA Abuja Branch Secretariat, BLOCK 16, FLAT 2, FCDA QUARTERS, KASHIM IBRAHIM WAY, WUSE II, ABUJA and this shall satisfy the provision of Section 19(1) of the Bye-Law, there being no Annual General Meeting in the year 2021.”

TheNigeriaLawyer recalls that the Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Abuja branch  Dr. Hauwa .E. Shekarau, dead on 15 September 2021 after a brief illness.
