Chairmanship candidate in the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Garki Branch election, Selzing Zingfa, has congratulated the newly elected Executive Committee of the branch, led by Chairman-Elect, Askira Alkali Adamu, while thanking his supporters and members of the branch for their support throughout the electoral process.

In an appreciation message addressed to Senior Advocates, learned seniors and members of the branch, Zingfa described the election as a defining moment in the history of NBA Garki Branch and in his personal journey of service.

Zingfa, who contested for the office of Chairman against Askira Alkali Adamu, said he remained grateful to the branch for giving him the opportunity to offer himself for service, engage members and share his vision for the growth of the branch.

According to him, the experience was humbling, enriching and filled with lessons he would always cherish.

He, however, noted that the campaign and electoral process were not without challenges, particularly the exclusion of members who attended branch meetings virtually from voting.

Zingfa said the development disenfranchised many eligible voters and generated strong reactions, leading to a directive from the NBA President.

He noted that although the directive was not implemented for the election, the issue had raised concerns that should guide both the branch and the national body going forward.

“I offered myself for leadership with the sincere conviction that I have the capacity, experience, and commitment to serve the Branch effectively. However, the members have spoken, and I accept the outcome of the election with respect,” he said.

Zingfa reaffirmed his commitment to NBA Garki Branch and the Nigerian Bar Association, saying he would continue to contribute to the growth, unity and progress of the branch.

He said his aspiration was not driven by personal ambition but by a desire to build a stronger, more inclusive and vibrant branch for all members.

“I therefore congratulate the newly elected Executive Committee under the leadership of Askira Alkali Adamu, and indeed the entire membership of NBA Garki Branch. I wish the new leadership wisdom, strength, and success as it assumes the responsibility of steering the affairs of our Branch,” he said.

Zingfa called for unity, peace, mutual respect and brotherhood among members of the branch, urging that future decisions be guided by the welfare of members and the progress of the branch rather than division or sentiment.

He thanked his supporters for their friendship, support and belief in him, adding that his dedication to the service of the NBA remained steadfast.

“The journey continues, and my dedication to the service of NBA remains steadfast,” he said.
