The Prosecutor, Cpl. Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 15 at about 3:30 a.m., at Atan, Ota. Mustapha said that the defendant stole two Techno mobile phones and a wallet containing N4,000, all belonging to one Anifowose Bolanle. He said that the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Vol. 1, Laws of Ogun, 2006. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.I. Adelaja, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150,000, with two sureties in like sum. Adelaja said that the sureties must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and should be gainfully employed. She said that the sureties should swear to an affidavit of means, have their addresses verified by the police, and produce evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
