The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has commenced the process for the 2024 Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) conferment, calling for applications from prospective awardees.

In a public notice, the LPPC Secretary and Supreme Court Chief Registrar, Hajo Bello announced that applications will be submitted online via www.lppconline.com portal opening January 1st 2024.

Applicants are to pay a non-refundable N1 million processing fee into provided LPPC accounts before proceeding to upload supporting documents onto the portal. Hard copies of publications and mandatory forms should also be submitted on five flash drives to the LPPC secretariat.

The deadline for online submissions is 12 noon, March 31st 2024, while flash drives should reach the secretariat by 4pm on April 1st. Bello warned that late applications will be considered non-submissions.

2024 AWARD OF THE RANK OF SENIOR ADVOCATE OF NIGERIA CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

  1. By the combined provisions of Section 5 (2) of the Legal Practitioners Act, Cap LII Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and Paragraph 10 (1)-(4) of the 2022 Guidelines for the Conferment of the Rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria 2022 (the Guidelines’), the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (the LPPC’ or ‘the Committee’) hereby makes a formal call for applications preparatory to the award of the rank for the year 2024. In commencing the year 2024 exercise, application shall only be made online and prospective Applicants are directed to visit www.lppconline.com.
  2. DIRECTIVES TO PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS’ ON SUBMISSION OF THEIR RESPECTIVE APPLICATIONS2.1 The application portal, https://lppconline.com/home will be open to the general public at 12:00 am on January 1st, 2024.

    2.2 Applicants’ shall pay a non-refundable processing fee of One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00) Only to any of the following accounts in favour of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (SAN)’:

    • Account Number: 1014103141, at Zenith Bank PLC,
    • Account Number: 0213662834 at GT Bank PLC.

     

  3. 2.3 Upon conclusion of payment, Applicants should upload a copy of the evidence of payment on the application portal. Applicants will receive a confirmatory email from the LPPC Secretariat and shall then proceed with the application process online.2.4 Applicants’ (whether Advocate or Academia) shall upload clear and legible copies of all mandatory or supporting documents that are required by the Guidelines for the purpose of their application on the application portal. Only clear copies of documents presented shall be considered/acceptable by the Secretariat in compliance with Paragraph 9(2) of the 2022 Guidelines. In the case of Academic applicants who may wish to submit publications that are too voluminous to be scanned and uploaded, it shall be sufficient to scan and upload the title page of such publications, whilst submitting the hard copies along with the flash drives referred to in clause 2.5 below.

    2.5 After uploading copies of all mandatory or supporting documents online, all applicants’ shall also submit five (5) flash drives containing a copy of their completed application form (downloaded from the online portal) as well as copies of all the mandatory and supporting documents uploaded on the online platform to the LPPC Secretariat.

    2.6 Any application and supporting documents submitted in a manner contrary to the directives of the LPPC as enumerated above will be rejected by the Secretariat.

    2.7 All applications and their mandatory or supporting documents shall be submitted online at https://lppconline.com/home  before 12:00 noon on the 31st March, 2024, whilst the flash drives referred to in clause 2.5 above must be delivered to the LPPC Secretariat before 4:00 pm on the 1st April, 2024.

    2.8 Any submission made after the deadlines stipulated in clause 2.7 above shall be treated as a non-submission. For further enquires, Applicants should send an electronic mail to:
