Linda Rose Bala has commiserated with the Nigerian Bar Association over the sudden death of Lucius E. Nwosu, SAN.

TheNigerialawyer reported the Port Harcourt based Learned Silk, foremost Nigerian environmental Lawyer and activist, died on Tuesday.

The Late Silk was widely reputed for his strong advocacy for the environmental rights of oil producing areas in the Niger Delta and his legal battles with International Oil Companies.

Bala, in her condolence message described Late Nwosu as Charity-personified.

She said, “It was the British-born Horatius Bona who wrote the famous hymn as follows:

“Fading away like the stars in the morning, Losing their light in the glorious sun

Thus, would we pass from the earth and it’s toiling, only remembered by what we have done.”

“The name Lucius Nwosu SAN rings a bell in the legal profession particularly in regards to oil and gas as well as the environment sectors.”

“But what is even more notable is his legacy of unfathomable charity to the bar and humanity in general.”

“Indeed, we will continually remember his good works to humanity as l join the Bar in mourning the fall of an irreplaceable iroko and pray the Almighty to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

“May he rest in peace.”
