A legal practitioner, Nnaebuka Nwaeze, has congratulated the Nigerian Bar Association Nyanya-Karu Branch on the successful conclusion of its 2026 Annual Law Week, describing the event as timely and impactful in Nigeria’s evolving democratic landscape.

In a goodwill message, Nwaeze commended the theme of the law week, “The Democratic Equation,” noting that it aptly reflects the current period when both the legal profession and the broader Nigerian society are preparing to elect leaders for a new constitutional term.

He emphasized the responsibility of legal practitioners to serve as opinion leaders and drivers of democratic ideals, stressing that lawyers must remain committed to building a just, equitable, and progressive society.

Nwaeze further praised the quality of discourse at the event, highlighting the contributions of the keynote speaker, Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, alongside other distinguished speakers and facilitators. According to him, the sessions provided valuable insights capable of guiding critical decisions in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

He also applauded the leadership of the branch, led by Alexander Ebi Edim, as well as the Law Week Organising Committee, for delivering what he described as a successful and enriching programme.

Speaking on institutional development, Nwaeze underscored the importance of the NBA Secretariat, describing it as a vital link between members and the association. He urged continuous efforts to improve service delivery and enhance member experience.

“The Secretariat of the NBA is one of the most viable connecting points between lawyers and the association and must continue to work towards enriching the experience of members. Let’s make the Secretariat about service,” he stated.
