The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates currently seeing “No Result Yet” while checking their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results are underage applicants whose results have been withheld.

In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB explained that the message does not indicate any technical glitch but reflects the status of candidates who do not meet the minimum age requirement for admission.

According to the Board, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to register for and sit the UTME, except under special conditions.

JAMB, however, noted that underage candidates may be considered under an exceptional category if they demonstrate outstanding academic ability.

The criteria for such consideration include scoring 320 and above in the UTME and attaining at least 80 percent in subsequent screening exercises.

The Board added that only candidates who meet the 320 benchmark would be shortlisted and invited for further assessment.

It further disclosed that the arrangement had been communicated to and endorsed by parents of the affected candidates.

JAMB reiterated its commitment to upholding admission standards while providing a pathway for exceptionally gifted students to be considered.
