The Lawyers In Business Institute (LIBI) has established a cooperative society to leverage their large membership for bulk purchase discounts and collective investments.

LIBI convenor Silas Agbara announced the cooperative’s launch during their October 27th meeting.

With over 700 lawyer members nationwide, LIBI seeks partners to offer the group discounted rates and special bargains.

The cooperative aims to pool funds for members to invest jointly in plots of land and real estate within Abuja FCT. They target contribution of N100,000 quarterly from at least 100 members for this purpose.

Additionally, LIBI plans a N50,000 monthly ‘asusu’ contribution scheme starting January 2024 allowing members to invest the fund in rotation. The cooperative has already partnered with an tech skills training firm to offer members discounted classes on high-demand IT and software skills.

Affordable land purchase arrangements are also secured with Shalom Villa Estate tailoring flexible payment plans up to a year for members. Plots details will be unveiled soon.

Lawyers interested in joining the savings and investment initiatives can indicate interest by paying into the LIBI account at Fidelity Bank.
