TheNigerialawyer (TNL), whilst putting calls across to the Nigerian Law School, was informed that no call to bar candidate was lost in the accident which occurred on Monday, along Bwari road or elsewhere. The Secretary of the Council of Legal Education, Elizabeth Max-Uba (Mrs), informed TNL, that the school doesn’t know where the story emanated from as they have liaised with the Police, Federal Road Safety Commission and Bwari General Hospital on the issue but was informed no such incident took place that involved a call to bar candidate. “There was an accident on Monday, and only one call to bar candidate was in the vehicle. He sustained a minor injury, but he was treated at the Nigerian law school clinic and immediately, he was allowed to go. “He was not even hospitalized. So I don’t know the source of this news that some law school students died. Certainly not in the Bwari accident, and I pray that it will not happen in any other accident. “No candidate has been lost, that we know. We saw the rumour on social media, so we liaised with the Police, Bwari General Hospital, and the Federal Road Safety Commission, and they said no law school student or candidate for call was involved or died in the accident. The Deputy Director and Head, Office of Advancement (Information, Alumni Protocol) Nigerian Law School, Chinedu Ukekwe in his statement made available to TNL, states “Worried about the sad news, the Management of the Nigerian Law School conducted a full-scale investigation with the officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police, Bwari Division. The outcome revealed that no student or graduating student was involved in the referred road mishap that regrettably claimed some lives. “While we commiserate with the families, relatives, and friends of those who lost their lives in the sad event, we want to use this medium to inform the general public that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Bwari Division, CSP Biodun Makanjuola has confirmed that none of the Nigerian Law School students or graduates died in the accident. https://youtu.be/IT_hi6YqVTY “The general public is therefore advised to disregard the news, as it is untrue and false.” TNL, after being intimated with this version of the story is making efforts to get in touch with the law school student who announced the information but she is not responding to her calls.]]>
